Verse of the Day
“Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” (1 Corinthians 1:10)
Marriage Enrichment Seminar Testimonials PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 08 October 2007

In September 2007 my wife Katherine and I held a Marriage Enrichment Seminar hosted by Evangel Assembly Church in Hartland, N.B. This church is pastored by Reverend Carman and Linda Webb originally from Bible Hill/Truro, N.S. We had fourteen couples take part in the two day event. Marriages were enriched and couples learned the importance of Agape Love in their relationship with one another. Some of the other topics discussed were Romance in Marriage, Your Marriage is a Garden, Intimacy in Marriage. Covenant Marriage versus Contract Marriage, Communication in Marriage and Love as the Foundation of Marriage.

The following are a few testimonials from the couples who attend the Marriage Enrichment Seminar

Pastor Carman and Linda Webb of Evangel Assembly Church, Hartland N.B.-The weekend of Sept 14-15, 2007 proved to be a very special time for married couples in Hartland, N.B. as Darrell and Kathy McLellan led us in a Marriage Enrichment Seminar. I particularly appreciated the "Your Marriage is a Garden" emphasis from the book of Genesis. There was lots of scripture content in the Seminar, which is very important to me. The McLellan's have a great ability to relate to married couples. I know lives were changed, understanding was built and excitement about followup for future events was created. There was also good handout material distributed throughout the Seminar to help couples in their discussions with one another on a private and personal level.

Bruce and Judy MacLeod-We really enjoyed the Seminar. There was a lot of helpful and informative material presented. Seeing that other married couples have similar problems helped us get ours in perspective. We would like to see the Seminar become an annual event and extend it into a three day, two night seminar.

Dave and Karen Hardy-We were really glad that you spoke so openly and honestly about sexual realities in marriage. It seems for the most part that sex is a taboo subject in the church. One would think that it's of the devil or something rather than a God ordained and highly important part of any marriage relationship. You also unwrapped the roles of the husband and wife in the marriage relationship showing us that it was not a master-servant relationship, rather a relationship involving mutual submission and respect with unity and harmony as the objectives in developing oneness. You certainly did away with the issue of scriptures being twisted and contorted so that either the husband or the wife could use them to control or manipulate one another to get what they wanted. Thanks for talking to us about the importance of expressing agape love in the developement of intimacy in our marriages.

The divorce rate in Canada now stands at 39% before the 30th Wedding Anniversary. This year in Canada approximately 72,000 marriages will end in divorce. This year, for the first time in Canadian history, the number of couples co-habiting out number couples married in Canada.
