Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish
The Vision of Rivers of Restoration Church is to have all people restored in their relationship with God, with one another and in the purpose and destiny for their lives.
Jesus Christ began His earthly ministry with one of the most powerful and dynamic Restoration Statements in the Bible.
Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
The good news of the Gospel of the Kingdom of God is you can have your life restored to you, now! You don't have to wait until you die and go to heaven, to be whole again. The Year of Jubilee was the 50th year; the year when all debts were cancelled and all that was lost was restored to its rightful owners.
Rivers of Restoration endeavors to manifest the Spirit of Restoration by
- Preaching the good news that God loves all mankind and that Jesus Christ has paid our debt in full. The Bible tells us that the handwriting of ordinances that was against us has been nailed to his cross, never to be remembered against us. What we lost, has been restored to us again.
- Establishing Christian Community where everyone is valued regardless of race or social status. People need a place where they have a sense of belonging, where they are loved and accepted regardless of their situation or circumstances. The key to evangelism and everything else we do is based upon face to face relationships.
- Teaching converts who they are in Christ. They need to know they are new creatures in Christ, the offspring of God and citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven. Christians need to be taught how to live out of their being, rather than out of their doing
- Making disciples of all men by teaching them to be obedient to the Word of God and by providing Godly examples for them to follow.
- Manifesting the righteousness and the glory of the Kingdom of God by good words, good works and the fruit of the Spirit in our lives. The Bible tells us that we are to show forth the praises of Him who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. Christ manifest Himself in flesh 2000 years ago. He desires to do it again in your flesh, in my flesh and in our flesh.
